I'm a PostDoc researcher

Mohammad B. Hamida

I work for WP3 – LCA, socio-institutional analysis, and the governance of sustainable and reliable steel infrastructures. My role is twofold: first, analysing and mapping the complex network of stakeholders involved in the operation, use, and maintenance of steel infrastructures – mainly bridges and sheet piles; and second, exploring ways to enhance the circular and reliable governance of these assets through policy recommendations.

I hold a PhD in circular and adaptable building transformation from Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands. During my PhD, I developed the concept of circular building adaptability and expanded it into a practice-oriented framework for building transformation projects, supported by a knowledge-sharing platform based on action design research.

I also hold a master’s degree in architectural engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, and a bachelor’s degree in building engineering from Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University in Saudi Arabia.

In the SUBLIME project, I use an integrative approach that aligns technical, socioeconomic, environmental, and political aspects to achieve the project’s desired outcomes. More specifically, I aim to comprehensively and collaboratively leverage the outcomes of stakeholder network analysis, the assessment of infrastructure operation, condition, impact, and use, as well as the technical solutions developed by other work packages, to create an aligned governance framework and strategies for circular and reliable steel infrastructures.

It is a great pleasure and opportunity to be part of SUBLIME and to collaborate with all the involved researchers, industry stakeholders, and policy partners toward the sustainable, reliable, and circular operation, maintenance, and governance of steel infrastructures.
